Long Eaton Youth Club on Derby Road will re-open on Saturday after a £37,000 refurbishment. The grant from the Youth Opportunities Funding has been used to restore the building and provide a new recording studio. £24,000 was spent on a new roof and the centre has been repainted. The remaining £13,000 was spent on state of the art recording and technology equipment.

Coun Anne Western said: “The Youth Opportunities Fund is helping to make a difference to young people across the country. The money is giving a helping hand to youth led projects up and down Derbyshire and we want to make sure the good work continues. The centre reopens at 2pm on Saturday 18th October and residents are invited to tour the new facilities and meet the new youth work team.

Hope it gets the support it had in the 60s many friends and acquaintences met there plenty to do and well run by all leaders especially Doris who stood no trouble
