MEAL DEAL 1

.
ROYAL OAK
. Chef Rick has 38 years experience in catering and has worked in most sectors including hotels, pubs, airports, civil service and even bakery management. When asked how things were going at the Oak Rick said: . “When we first started it was slow but it is picking up now. We did a basic menu at first as we didnt know what people wanted. We have talked to the customers and have now altered the menu. We do Sunday lunch from 12noon until 4pm and have introduced a senior citizens menu as people seemed to want that. We have also introduced Specials. The core menu will stay the same with specials changing on a regular basis.”
. I took the missus to the Oak for Sunday lunch last week for the first instalment of the websites Meal Deal Guide. The food was most enjoyable with fresh veg, and it was hot. There was a choice of roast beef, pork or chicken at £5.50 a head and if you did not want a traditional meal there was scampi, chilli con carne or haddock and chips on the menu. I went for the roast beef and Gill had pork and we washed it down with a bottle of Pinot Grigio. Incidentally the missus was really impressed with the ladies toilets and rated them 9/10. (It must be a woman thing) . There was a choice of 4 white wines a rose or a red. If you have not been yet we suggest you try it. You will not be disappointed. Good food, friendly family atmosphere and the price is right. . MENUS LUNCH TIME EVENING MENU SENIOR CITIZENS SUNDAY / CHILDRENS MENU SPECIALS ..
