Sunday 27th February

Join Groundwork Derby and Derbyshire to look at the wonderful winter trees at Victoria Park and learn more about them. Enjoy an interesting Sunday morning walk around the park following the tree trail and looking at the special features of different trees in early spring.

Victoria Park was opened in 1902 for the leisure and pleasure of visitors, and the wide range of trees planted then are now mature and magnificent.

Deb Allitt from Groundwork Derby and Derbyshire says: “Local people and visitors to Ilkeston are all very welcome to come along for the tree trail morning, which will be friendly and informative, a chance to walk, look and learn something new.”

Everyone is welcome and the trail is suitable for families and adults of any age. Children must be accompanied by an adult. There is no need to book and the event is free of charge. Free parking is available.

Meet at Drummond Road, Ilkeston, DE7 5HB at 10.30 am. The event will end at 12.00 noon.

Derbyshire County NHS and Erewash Borough Council are funding the project which encourages “Healthy Exercise in Erewash’s Green Spaces.”
