BOY PUSHED INTO CANAL
Police are appealing for information after a teenager was shoved into a canal. The 13-year-old boy was cycling along the Erewash Canal tow path at Lock Lane, Sandiacre, at around 2.15pm on Sunday, January 8th. A dog ran out in front of him, causing him to swerve. A man then approached him, was verbally abusive and pushed him in the chest, causing him and his bike to fall into the water.
The man is described as white, in his 30s and around 5ft 10ins tall. He was of large build, bald and wore a black leather coat. He was walking with a white woman who was pushing a pushchair. The dog was a white and brown Staffordshire Bull Terrier-type dog. Anyone with information should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
