A man has been jailed for four years after he admitted robbing a shop in Long Eaton. 

The man pleaded guilty to robbing a convenience store in Station Road at around 10pm on Wednesday, July 10th. 

He and an accomplice entered the shop while staff were cashing up. They demanded that the till was opened and as the men took cash from the till drawer, the shopkeeper came out from a back room and chased them away.

The 30year old man of no fixed abode, was sentenced at Derby Crown Court on Friday, July 30th. A second man,28, also of no fixed abode, has also been charged with the robbery and has made his first appearance before magistrates.
