Be a sport – come along to a free event!

Sandiacre Friesland Sports Centre is throwing open its doors on Wednesday 12 February for a one-day event to showcase its facilities – and give residents the chance to have-a go at a whole range of activities. The open event begins with junior activities (over-14s) between 3pm-5pm when there will be free trampolining, badminton and squash on offer as well as a free trial in the gym. Adults can then enjoy some free activities between 5pm-9pm, including a free trial in the gym – with a female instructor on hand to help any ladies who are new and nervous to the fitness facility! Residents are advised to ring ahead and book a slot in the gym on 0115 949 0400.

There will also be a free hi/low aerobics sessions between 6.15pm-6.45pm and a body tone workout between 6.45pm-7.15pm – just turn up and join in. Councillor Mike Wallis, Erewash Borough Council’s Lead Member for Culture and Leisure, says:
“This open event is a great opportunity for residents to go along and find out the fantastic facilities and activities we have on offer at Sandiacre Friesland Sports Centre. We hope that juniors and adults will be inspired to commit themselves to a healthier and active lifestyle – so put the date in your diary and go along to try out some free activities.”
Adults who attend the open evening can claim a 7-day membership pass
to try out the facilities for free and everyone will have the chance to win an iPod Nano. Anyone signing up for a Health Club membership on the day will receive their first month free and there will be no joining fees.
