Police are appealing for witnesses after an elderly woman disturbed an intruder who had sneaked into her home in Long Eaton. The incident occurred at around 8.30pm on Thursday, February 13th. An 81-year-old woman noticed the back door to her home on Sycamore Road was slightly open. She looked out of the door to see a man stood there. The woman shouted at him and he ran off. The victim found her handbag discarded in the garden and her purse was missing. The man was wearing a light coloured top with a dark pattern all over it and his hood up. Officers believe a second person may have been involved as two men were seen acting suspiciously nearby around the time of the incident.
