TWO MEN CHARGED

POLICE CHARGE TWO LONG EATON MEN WITH SANDIACRE BURGLARY
Two men arrested for a distraction burglary in Sandiacre have been charged.
At 9.15pm on Thursday, March 27, a man selling cigarettes and tobacco called at an address on Norbury Way, Sandiacre. The victim agreed to buy some cigarettes and tobacco but the caller then distracted the victim by saying he needed a bag as the items were in his car .
When the victim turned to get a bag the man stole £60 off the kitchen worktop, left the property and got into a car driven by another man . Glen Harrison (37) of Tamworth Road, Long Eaton and Robert McNaul (41) of Collingwood Road, Long Eaton have been charged with burglary and are due to appear at South Derbyshire Magistrates Court on Friday, May 9th.


TEENAGER ROBBED ON CANAL TOWPATH
A teenaged boy was forced to hand over his mobile phone by a robber who had stopped to talk to the victim and his friends on a canal path. The 16-year-old victim and two friends were at a stretch of canal path near Longmoor Lane, Sandiacre, when the robber cycled up to them. The offender became aggressive with the group and then demanded that the victim hand over his phone. He then threatened to hit the victim, before snatching the mobile phone and cycling off. The incident took place at about 4.30pm on Wednesday, April 23rd.
The robber was white, aged 16 or 17, about 5ft 9ins, of skinny build and with short, light brown hair. He wore a black beanie style hat and black hooded top, and was riding a mountain bike. Police want to hear from anyone who witnessed the robbery or knows someone matching the description of the offender.
