Calling all Erewash gardening fans . . . the deadline to enter this year’s Erewash in Bloom competition is fast approaching, so sharpen your shears and spruce up your baskets and make sure you register by Friday 4 July. The annual competition - the flagship project of Erewash Borough Council’s Pride in Erewash campaign - is popular with residents in all corners of the borough as well as with schoolchildren and local businesses, who all compete to be crowned a Bloom champion. This year’s competition again features a whole range of categories aimed at saluting green-fingered gardeners of all ages for their summertime displays.
Entry forms are available from Ilkeston and Long Eaton Town Halls – while entries can also be made online at
Councillor Mike Wallis, Erewash Borough Council’s Lead Member for Culture and Leisure, says:

“We expect another record-breaking year for our Erewash in Bloom competition, which remains extremely popular and always puts some real flower power into our borough. Good luck to all those taking part, let’s hope for summer sunshine and perfect growing conditions!”
Judging takes place over the summer break and an awards ceremony is held in the autumn.
