Police investigating an alleged serious sexual assault in the grounds of Long Eaton library have released a CCTV image of potential witnesses they want to trace. A 30-year-old woman was allegedly attacked as she walked through an area outside the library, in Tamworth Road, on July 6th. Detectives who are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened between 3am and 4am, have now released a CCTV image of two men and a woman who were walking along Broad Street around the time of the alleged offence. Officers want to speak to them to see if they could have information to help the inquiry. Jason Sedgwick, 29, of Northcote Street, Long Eaton, has been charged with rape in connection with the incident and has been remanded in custody. He will be tried on March 16th next year. Sedgwick will next appear at Derby Crown Court on October 24th for a plea and case management hearing. Anyone with information should call Derbyshire police on 101, quoting crime reference 28140/14.
