JEWELLERY STOLEN Police are appealing for information after jewellery was stolen from a house in Long Eaton. Two rings, one of which was a gold engagement ring, were taken from a property in Peveril Crescent. The offenders forced open a ground floor window between 1pm and 9pm on Saturday, December 20th. Detectives investigating the offence want to hear from anyone who saw people acting suspiciously in the area around the time. PEDESTRIAN IN COLLISION A fifty one year old Long Eaton man suffered head injuries after being struck by a Volkswagen Golf. The incident occured in Petersham Road at 8pm onTuesday December 23rd. The road was closed for half an hour while ambulance crew treated the man who was taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre, in Nottingham. The driver of the vehicle was not injured.

WOMAN ASSAULTED IN BRIDGE STREET Appeal for information after a woman was assaulted at her home in Long Eaton. On Tuesday, December 16th just after midnight a woman was in her garden on Bridge Street when she saw two men in the yard. She went back inside and as she did so one of the men reached into the house and picked up her handbag that was beside the door. The woman managed to grab her bag back from the man. The man then took an empty wine bottle and assaulted the woman with it causing cuts to her head and hands. One of the men was described as white, between 5ft 7ins and 5ft 9ins tall and was wearing a black baseball cap and a grey hoody. The other man was white, slim build, between 5ft 5ins and 5ins 6ins tall and was wearing a black jumper and a black bobble hat. MAN ATTACKED A man suffered a broken leg after being attacked in Cooperative Street, Long Eaton. The incident occurred shortly after 1am on December 27th. The 44 year old man was taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre, in Nottingham, where he needed surgery. He told police he had been attacked by two men and that one had stamped on his leg causing the in jury. A 23 year old Long Eaton man has been arrested, questioned and bailed. Anyone with information should call police on 101.

CAR STOLEN A car was stolen from a house in Long Eaton sometime between Friday, December 26th at 9pm and Saturday, December 27th at 9am a blue Renault Megane and its keys were stolen from a house on Baslow Close.
