Police appeal for witnesses after a car ran over a dog in Long Eaton. On Thursday, May 28th at around 7.35pm a disabled woman was crossing the road on Meadow Lane, near to Hypnos bed shop, with her two dogs. As they approached the pavement at the opposite side a silver car, possibly a Vauxhall Astra or Vectra, allegedly sped up and swerved to hit one of the dogs. The driver was described as in his 50s/60s with dark hair which was greying. He was wearing a smart white/light blue shirt. One of the dogs has had to have its leg amputated as a result of the injuries caused.
