STUDENTS OFFERED ADVICE

Important advice for Erewash students as they consider they consider their post-16 future will be on offer at two Careers Fairs hosted by Erewash Borough Council this month. The two events will see schools in the Ilkeston area invited to the Careers Fair at Rutland Sports Park on Thursday 22nd October and those in the Long Eaton area the following day at West Park Leisure Centre on Friday 23rd October.
Erewash Borough Council has organised the two Fairs to give Year 11 students the chance to talk to representatives of a range of trades and professions from both the public and private sectors as they think about their academic options.
Councillor Michael Powell, Erewash Borough Council’s Lead Member for Regeneration and Planning, says:
“We are committed to doing whatever we can to support our young people and, indeed, our local industry. We have organised these events to help students get a clear insight into the skills, qualifications and experience needed for a range of career paths and we hope it will help them make more informed choices about future education or training options.
The Career Fairs are specifically targeted at local schools and are by invitation only and not open to the wider public.
