Long Eaton Air Cadets celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Air Training Corps
On Sunday 7th February, just under 40 cadets gathered from 2195 (Long Eaton) squadron ATC and 1360 (Stapleford and Sandiacre) squadron ATC at St Lawrence Church to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Air Cadets. This coincides with many celebrations happing around the country, with the main event occurring in London, where cadets are joined by newly appointed Honorary Air Commandant HRH The Duchess of Cambridge.
The Cadets congregated outside the church just after nine to welcome all attendees of the service. The service began at half past nine and concluded at eleven o’clock. The service consisted of hymns and a reading by one of the Cadets, Cadet Corporal Emi Ephraim.
The squadron also paraded their banner, which was carried by Cadet Warrant Officer Damien Simpson. He said “It truly was an honour to be able to represent the squadron on such a momentous year.”
