Barry Manilow’s hit musical, Copacabana, will arrive at the Duchess Theatre next March as The Erewash Musical Society bring this exciting show to life in Long Eaton. Packed with original songs, dazzling costumes and dynamic choreography, this production will certainly have everyone up on their feet and dancing in the aisles as well as on the stage. The show features many Manilow hits including Dancin’ Fool, Who Needs to Dream, Welcome to Havana and of course, the Grammy Award-winning Copacabana (At The Copa) and this production will certainly have everyone up on their feet and dancing in the aisles. This show just explodes with memorable songs and dances from start to finish and has captivated millions of theatre goers around the globe.

It is a tale of romance and stardom featuring aspiring songwriter Tony who when working as a pianist in a bar meets the gorgeous Lola, who is determined to make it in showbiz. Quickly falling for Lola, Tony does everything he can to assist her attempts to find stardom. At Manhattan's Copacabana Lounge both start to find fame, before fate steps in and Lola is swept away to Havana to work in a splashy night club. But Lola's new mentor and boss Rico may demand a price for putting her name in lights.
Copacabana is based on the song of the same title, which was released in 1978 and earned Barry Manilow a Grammy Award. It has Music by Barry Manilow, Lyrics by Bruce Sussman and Jack Feldman and Book by Barry Manilow, Jack Feldman and Bruce Sussman.

ABOUT THE SHOW
 

In 1948, wannabe singer Lola meets aspiring songwriter Tony when both are contestants on a radio show. Tony is immediately smitten with Lola and assists her flailing attempts to break into show business. At Manhattan's Copacabana lounge, both start finding fame. However, fate steps in and Lola is swept to Havana to work in a splashy night club act where she is convinced she will find her stardom, while Tony finds his own career gaining speed at the Copa. But Lola's new mentor and boss Rico may demand a price for putting Lola's name in lights...
