After securing the League title 4 weeks ago, and being the first team to be promoted undefeated, Long Eaton United Ladies can now add the League Cup to their fine season after thumping Mansfield Town Ladies 6-1 on Sunday. Birthday girl Cara Newton put the Blues 2-1 up just before half-time with a fine header into the top corner.
The second half was a completely different game, with a change in formation United were pumped and dominated, Mansfield’s only option was to hit the ball long. As a result Hamilton hit a hat-trick and further goals from Alena Moulton and Kim Evans late on secured the victory.
