Police are appealing for information after sentimental items, including a WW1 cigarette case and an antique RAF pocket watch, were stolen from a home in Long Eaton. Overnight between 11.55pm on Sunday, July 10 and 7.15am the following morning, thieves used tools from the victim’s shed to force open a window of their property on Bennett Street in Long Eaton.
Once inside, thieves carried out an untidy search of the home before making off with a number of items including bank cards, a black and grey Italian leather rucksack, and cash. A number of sentimental items were also stolen during the burglary including a sterling silver WW1 cigarette case with ‘DB’ and ‘1914’ engraved on the front, and an original RAF issued pocket watch.
